A Toryn Saga · Hacking Simulation for the AI Era

Hack the Stars

Genre: Hacking Simulation · Strategy · Systems Simulation

Status: In Development · early 2027

Earth, circa 2040. The powerful are quietly preparing to leave for the stars, and you hack the people and systems behind it. As an independent cyber operator, run your own illicit Shadow Cloud, train your own models and orchestrate specialized AI agents. Pilot a drone room by room through real facilities to open the networks inside, then decide how much trouble to create while your agents work what you committed them to. You win by designing the operation, not by typing fast.

Features

Break in, room by room

Most contracts start outside a real building. You pilot a drone through it one room at a time, and each room holds its own isolated network: the drone is the only bridge between them.

Every move is a decision, not travel. Enter R&D now, or take out surveillance first? Detour through the security room to see the whole floor, knowing the intrusion raises Trace? Leave a relay behind, or keep a foothold through a compromised device?

Run your own Shadow Cloud

Your infrastructure is an illicit cloud rented from bulletproof providers: instances, hops, storage and GPUs, run from a console like a real cloud account.

During a mission you buy services on the spot: hop to a fresh IP to shake off pursuit, or burst bandwidth and compute when the operation needs it, all paid from the same campaign Credits.

Command AI agents, not keystrokes

Specialized agents scan, fingerprint, exploit and hold access while you decide where they go, what they risk and when to step in. Flows and policies automate the routine work you have already committed to.

You win by designing the operation, not by typing fast: map the topology, chain gateways, choose compatible models and decide how much trouble to create.

Train models on what you steal

Exfiltrated data becomes training material. Each training run produces a new model revision with its own strengths and trade-offs, drawn as a lineage tree in your AI Lab.

A revision is a step sideways, not a level-up: you pick the right model for the target, and the debrief tells you what it did.

Trace, DEFCON and adaptive defenses

Every action leaves a trace. As Trace rises, the target moves from passive defenses to suspicion, active containment, counter-AI and finally a hunt for your signal.

Defenses change the battlefield instead of ending the run at a fixed timer: doors lock down, credentials rotate and the network you mapped stops being the network you face.

An investigation across five acts

Routine contracts keep pointing at the same concealed initiative. Act by act, work for and against the Four corporations, Vantrex, Helix, Obsidian and Aurelion, and follow the evidence to what they are really preparing.

Concept Art

Early concept art, not in-game footage. The final look may change.

Isometric cutaway of a Vantrex office floor at night: the player drone hovers in the open office, a security camera cone sweeps the room, locked doors are marked T2 and T3, and the vault door shows its encryption level.

Core Systems

  • Drone infiltration of real facilities, room by room
  • Shadow Cloud: run your own illicit cloud and train your own models
  • AI agent orchestration and playbooks, with you in command
  • Fog-of-war networks with multi-hop gateway chaining
  • Trace, DEFCON escalation and adaptive defenses
  • Persistence: preserve access or reclaim resources
